Ever had that moment where you just want to stay still a little longer? Not quite ready for the busy to start back? That was me this weekend. My boys had their first tournament of the season. I wasn’t ready. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching them and will always be on the front row watching them and their sister do what they love but I just wasn’t quite ready. I wanted one more weekend to sit quietly on the back porch watching them play outside but it was time for the busy season to start. While driving to the ballfield, I received a text. A text I know I can get at any moment but it always puts a lump in my throat regardless. There was not one but two family who may need me. Their babies were being born into the arms of Jesus. Here I was struggling with busy starting back and they may never get to experience this type of busy. God gave me one heck of a gut punch. I was quickly reminded that my busy was just where I needed to be and just how blessed I was to have it! I needed that reminder and God made sure I had it. I got out at that ball-field, ready to enjoy however many hours we might be there! I photographed the whole tournament, like I always do, but making sure my battery didn’t get too low in case I was needed. Now I sit editing both an exciting tournament and painfully beautiful photos while being reminded that God put me right where I needed to be and I couldn’t be more thankful. My heart is full and there’s nothing more rewarding as a business owner… money isn’t all it’s about.
